Von Transnistria hab ich zum ersten Mal vor ein paar Tagen geh\u00f6rt. Es ist ein Land, das eigentlich zu Moldawien geh\u00f6rt, sich aber in den Neunzigern abgekapselt hat (aus welchen Gr\u00fcnden auch immer). Heute ist es moskaukonform und wird von der Weltgemeinschaft gar nicht anerkannt… Nun hab ich mir nix dabei gedacht, denn schlie\u00dflich blieb ich nur eine Nacht dort. Doch schon an der Grenze war es anders als alles bisher Bekannte. Es gab vier Checkpoints, an zwei musste ich meinen Pass vorzeigen, an den anderen zwei gab es Schranken und schwer bewaffnete Soldaten… Um durch diese moldawische Provinz zu kommen, musste ich eine Immigrationsgenehmigung f\u00fcr 24 Std. einholen. Nichts Besonderes: Grund und Dauer der Einreise. Doch schon kurz darauf auf einer Br\u00fccke gab es den n\u00e4chsten Checkpoint, zwar ohne Kontrolle aber wieder mit schwer bewaffneten Soldaten und einem mit Tarnnetz getarnten Panzer… In der Stadt gab es viele milit\u00e4rische Denkm\u00e4ler, die an die Macht der Russen erinnern. Das waren haupts\u00e4chlich Panzer und nicht zu vergessen eine mordsgro\u00dfe Leninstatue. Das alles war schon ein ziemlicher Schock, denn damit hab ich nun wirklich nicht gerechnet. Dementsprechend ist hier auch die Mentalit\u00e4t. Das Einzige, was wohl z\u00e4hlt, ist St\u00e4rke und Macht. Nicht auszudenken, wie hier die Kinder aufwachsen. Ich mein, die ganze milit\u00e4rische Pr\u00e4senz und linksrum scheinbare Feinde. Im Westen Moldavien, im Norden, Osten und S\u00fcden Ukraine. Seltsam ist aber, dass, obwohl das Land nicht anerkannt wird,\u00a0es hier westliche Autoh\u00e4user, Produkte aller Art und sogar das Bier der moldawischen Hauptstadt Chi\u015fin\u0103u gibt. Scheinbar nach dem Motto \u201esolange der Rubel rollt\u201c… Apropos Rubel, das ist hier auch so eine Sache. Man kann an den Bankautomaten nur russische Rubel abheben, damit aber nicht zahlen… Ein Gang zur Wechselstube ist unumg\u00e4nglich. Des Weiteren kann man diese W\u00e4hrung nirgends auf der Welt umtauschen, das hei\u00dft, man muss es vor der Abreise wieder in eine andere W\u00e4hrung umtauschen…
\nBei der Ausreise bin ich mal wieder abgerippt worden. Der Z\u00f6llner des M\u00f6chtegernlandes sagte, dass ich die 40 km zur\u00fcck radln soll und mir einen Stempel von der Polizei einholen m\u00fcsste… Klar, dass das eine reine Schikane war und er auf Geld aus war. Schlie\u00dflich wollte ich das Loch verlassen und er wusste, dass ich nie und nimmer am selben Tag zur\u00fcck w\u00e4r. Da h\u00e4tte ich dann das n\u00e4chste Problem gehabt, mit dem er mich erpressen k\u00f6nnte. Man darf sich da nicht l\u00e4nger als 24 Std. ohne Visa aufhalten… Also musste ich ihm umgerechnet 80 \u20ac f\u00fcr die Ausreise bezahlen… Dieser Penner! Schon komisch, dass ich bis jetzt nur mit vermeintlichen Ordnungsh\u00fctern Probleme hatte, ja gar erpresst wurde!
\nAlles sehr seltsam und vor allem sehr rau dort. Zum ersten Mal f\u00fchlte ich mich nicht sicher… Bin heilfroh, da durch zu sein!<\/p>\n

Ab sofort bin ich nicht nur stumm, sondern auch blind –\u00a0kyrillisch…<\/p>\n

An unknown country…<\/span><\/p>\n

A few days ago, I heard of Transnistria for the first time. It is a country that actually belongs to Moldova, but it separated itself from Moldova (for whatever reasons) in the 1990s. Today it conforms to Moscow and is not recognized by the world community. I didn\u2019t think too much about it as I only spent one night there. But already at the border, things were different from those I\u2019ve experienced so far. There were four checkpoints. At two I had to present my passport, and at the other two there were gates and heavily armed soldiers\u2026 To pass through this Moldovan province I had to obtain a 24-hour immigration permit. Nothing special: reason and duration of stay. Shortly after, there came the next checkpoint. It did not involve the presentation of my passport, but again there were heavily armed soldiers and a tank covered by a camouflage net\u2026The city has many military monuments in memory of the former Soviet power. These monuments were mainly tanks and not to forget a humongous statue of Lenin. All this was quite a shock because I really hadn\u2019t expected that. The mentality follows the appearance here. The only important things are strength and power. I don\u2019t want to think about how children grow up here. I mean, the entire military presence and the presumed enemies all around. In the west there is Moldova, and in the north, east, and south the Ukraine. Although the country is not recognized as such, it is strange that there are western car dealers, products of all kind, and even the beer of the Moldovan capital Chi\u015fin\u0103u. Apparently according to the motto \u201cmoney makes the world go round\u201d. Speaking of money, that\u2019s also a subject. At ATMs, you can only withdraw rubles but can\u2019t pay with them. Going to the exchange office is inevitable. Furthermore, you can\u2019t change their currency anywhere in the world, which means that you have to change it into another currency before you leave.
\nI was ripped off again while exiting the country. The border guard of this wannabe country told me to cycle back 40 km and to get a stamp by the police\u2026 Obviously, it was just to harass me and he was after my money. After all, I wanted to leave this hole, and he knew that I wouldn\u2019t have made it back the same day. This would be the next problem he could use to blackmail me. You mustn\u2019t stay longer than 24 hours\u2026 So I had to pay an equivalent of 80 \u20ac for exiting the country\u2026 What a bum! It is really odd that I\u2019ve only had problems with alleged law officials, and even got blackmailed!
\nEverything is strange and, above all, rough. For the first time, I don\u2019t feel safe\u2026 I\u2019m more than happy to be out of there!<\/span><\/p>\n

From now on, I\u2019m not only mute but also blind \u2013 Cyrillic\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n
