Sch\u00f6n, wieder in Europa zu sein! Die knappen 1.000 km in neun Tagen durch Portugal und Spanien verliefen wie im Flug. Nur die letzten vier waren hart. Petrus wollte es mir anscheinend noch spannend machen und schickte mir m\u00e4chtig Gegenwind. Kurz vor dem Mittelmeer zwei Bergetappen und dann die erste Pause in Valencia.
\nDie Strecke war landschaftlich wie kulinarisch ein reiner Schmaus! Alte, verschlafene D\u00f6rfer mit Burgen und engen Gassen. Orangen-, Oliven- und Weinplantagen, auf denen die Bauern die B\u00e4ume und Str\u00e4ucher noch behutsam mit einer Schere bearbeiten! Jeder Supermarkt wirkt wie ein Feinkostladen. Meine t\u00e4gliche Ration war ein leckerer Hartk\u00e4se, harte, getrocknete Salami, Fisch, Oliven, Obst, Baguette und am Abend Wein! Es mag vielleicht seltsam ausgesehen haben, wenn ich am Stra\u00dfenrand wie ein Zigeuner mein Essen auspackte und es mir gem\u00fctlich machte… Sehr oft sah ich hier Daumen von\u00a0Stra\u00dfenarbeitern, Autofahrern, \u00e4lteren Leuten, die in Caf\u00e9s sa\u00dfen, aber ganz besonders motivierend fand ich immer die Daumen von Bikern! Von denen wimmelte es nur in den Bergen! Gespr\u00e4che ergaben sich bisher nicht, leider spricht hier so gut wie niemand Englisch. Somit ist der Fokus immer auf der Stra\u00dfe und der n\u00e4chsten Etappe.
\nNun geht’s ab nach Barcelona, dann immer an der K\u00fcste entlang rauf nach Frankreich! Noch zwei L\u00e4nder, ich kann’s nicht glauben…
\nDas Erdbeben hier hab ich nicht mitbekommen, es war anscheinend in der Nacht. Da kann auch eine ganze B\u00e4renbande um mein Zelt tanzen, mich kriegt nichts wach… Ok, nur die Sonne morgens. Sobald die ersten Strahlen das Zelt treffen, muss ich raus! Hitze!
\n\u00dcber Lissabon hab ich letztens kein Wort verloren. Hatte auch wenig Zeit, um die Stadt zu erkunden. Zudem kam noch der Jetlag und die Sorge um Terra. Eins kann ich aber schon sagen, nach New York erscheint die Stadt schon sehr seltsam… Alte Welt eben… Von Valencia hab ich bisher auch noch nicht viel gesehen. Hab bisher nur W\u00e4sche gewaschen, gegessen, gegessen, gegessen und geschlafen… Ah ja, Wein getrunken :-)! Vom Bier hielt ich Abstand, denn die Spanier haben mehr Ahnung vom Wein als vom Bier…<\/p>\n

Nice to be back in Europe! The nine days in which I covered approximately 1,000 km through Portugal and Spain passed by quickly. Only the last four days were hard. It seemed that Petrus wanted to keep the journey exciting and sent heavy head winds. Shortly before the Mediterranean Sea I took two mountain stages and then the first break in Valencia.
\nIn terms of scenery and food, the tour was a feast! Old, calm villages with castles and narrow alleys. Orange and olive plantations as well as vineyards where the farmers still work the trees and bushes carefully with scissors! Every supermarket seems like a deli. My daily food consisted of delicious hard cheese, hard dried salami, fish, olives, fruits, baguette and wine in the evening! It may have looked odd when I like a gypsy unpacked my food and made myself comfortable at the curbside \u2026 Here I noticed very often a thumbs-up from road workers, drivers and elder people sitting in caf\u00e9s. Especially motivating, however, was the thumbs-up from bikers! The mountains teemed with bikers! Conversations haven\u2019t come up so far because no one speaks good English here. Therefore, the focus is on the streets and the next stage.
\nNow I\u2019m off to Barcelona, and then always along the cost up to France! Only two more countries, I can\u2019t believe it\u2026
\nI didn\u2019t notice the earthquakes here; it appears it had happened at night. Even if a bunch of bears danced around my tent, nothing can wake me up\u2026 Okay, only the sun in the morning. As soon as the first rays of sunlight hit the tent, I have to get out! Heat!
\nIn my last article I didn\u2019t say a word about Lisbon. I had little time to explore the city. In addition, I was jetlagged and worried about Terra. But there is one thing I can say: After New York, the city seems to be strange\u2026 Old world\u2026 I haven\u2019t seen much of Valencia either. Until now, I\u2019ve only taken care of laundry, food, food, food and sleep\u2026 Oh yes, and wine :-)! I kept my distance to the beer because the Spaniards are better at making wine that beer\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n
