Erst mal sorry, dass immer noch keine Bilder online sind, Computer san rar…<\/p>\n

Es l\u00e4uft wieder wia Sau! Die Topografie hat sich seit Cincinnati ver\u00e4ndert. H\u00fcgellandschaft, die mal wieder an K\u00e4rnten erinnert. Jeden Tag geht’s zwischen 1300-1500 hm rauf und leider wieder runter… Es sind meist kurze, aber steile Anstiege, speziell die Gegend um Pittsburgh. Da ist viel Schwei\u00df geflossen! Mein Wasserverbrauch stieg ebenfalls auf etwa 7 Liter. Dennoch, mit 60 kg unter’m Arsch lief es super!<\/p>\n

Was noch so passierte.
\nAls ich mich vor einem Thunderstorm einen Tag lang im Motel versteckte, klopfte es an der T\u00fcr. Die Debbie hat mich \u00fcber Spot lokalisiert und zu ihren Freunden zum Essen abgeholt! Sau cool! Merci! Ab dem folgenden Tag war ich auf der Flucht vor dem n\u00e4chsten Sturm. Die kommen hier immer aus dem Westen und ziehen nach Nordost. Petrus war aber auf meiner Seite und hielt mir bis Pennsylvania den R\u00fccken frei!<\/p>\n

Pittsburgh, eine weitere Gro\u00dfstadt, Mordsverkehr, hektisch und laut. Das wirkt auch auf die Menschen… Fuhr gem\u00fctlich durch die City und pl\u00f6tzlich werd ich mit Dauerhupen von hinten beschallt. Schlie\u00dflich blieb ich stehen und fragte: „What’s your problem?“ Da stieg eine etwa 16-j\u00e4hrige Schwart’n aus dem Auto und br\u00fcllte mich an, als ob sie was gestochen h\u00e4tte. Das Auto wippte w\u00e4hrenddessen noch ein wenig… Fragte sie, warum sie denn nicht einfach \u00fcberholt wie alle anderen..? HIER WERDEN 25 MEILEN GEFAHREN!! Ich kl\u00e4rte sie kurz auf, dass wir nicht auf der Interstate sind, 25 Meilen sind ein Limit und kein Gebot. Daraufhin flippte sie v\u00f6llig aus, ihr Gesicht war durch einen Spucknebel kaum noch zu erkennen. Da ist Hopfen und Malz verloren, dacht ich mir. Hab ihr noch freundlich einen sch\u00f6nen Tag gew\u00fcnscht und bin weiter. Im Augenwinkel sah ich sie noch h\u00fcpfen… Verr\u00fcckt, noch keine Haare, Papas Auto und Riesenklappe!<\/p>\n

Egal, die Landschaft ist ein reines Abenteuer! \u00dcberall Wald, der Fr\u00fchling f\u00e4ngt grad an und alles bl\u00fcht! T\u00e4glich sehe ich Rehe, Raubv\u00f6gel und kleine Nager. Wusste gar nicht, dass Rehe so weit springen k\u00f6nnen, Bussarde im Team jagen und Stinktiere tot auch noch stinken… Sehr beeindruckend diese Vielzahl an Leben! Des Weiteren sieht man immer \u00f6fters Daumen aus den Autos und an vielen Stopps nette Gespr\u00e4che! Jede noch so kleine Geste wirkt wie eine Duracell und zaubert ein L\u00e4cheln zwischen Stra\u00dfe, Schwei\u00df und brennenden Beinen!<\/p>\n

Nun hat mich ein Thunderstorm erwischt. Das ist echt ein Erlebnis! Eine Wand aus Wasser, die Sicht beschr\u00e4nkt sich auf wenige Meter und der Wind ist einfach nur heftig! Die Woche soll es durchregnen, der n\u00e4chste Sturm ist auch schon unterwegs… Da hei\u00dft’s wieder die Flucht ergreifen! Noch 240 km bis Nanticoke und ca. 450 km bis New York!<\/p>\n

First of all, sorry that no pics are online yet but computers are rare\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n

Everything is just going well! The topography has changed since Cincinnati. Hilly landscape which again reminds me of Carinthia. Every day it goes up between 1,300-1,500 meters in altitude and unfortunately down again\u2026 Mostly it\u2019s short but steep climbs, especially around Pittsburgh. Lots of sweat flowed there! My water consumption also increased to approximately 7 liters. However, it went well with 60 kg under my butt!<\/span><\/p>\n

Other happenings:
\nWhen I was hiding from a thunderstorm in the motel for a day, someone knocked on the door. Debbie located me via Spot and picked me up for eating at her friend\u2019s! Aces! Thanks! From the following day on, I was fleeing from the storm. Here, the storms always go from west to northeast. But Petrus was on my side and covered my back until Pennsylvania!<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/p>\n

Pittsburgh, another big city: lots of traffic, hectic and loud. That also has an impact on people\u2026 I was unhurriedly cycling through the city when someone constantly honked at me from behind. Finally, I stopped and asked: \u201cWhat\u2019s your problem?\u201d Then a blob of estimated 16 years got out of the car and yelled at me as if something had stung her. During this, the car was still bouncing\u2026 I asked her why she didn\u2019t overtake me like all others\u2026? HERE YOU GO 25 MILES!! I shortly elucidated to her that this is not the interstate, and 25 miles are the limit and not a must. Thereon, she totally flipped out, and her face could hardly be seen through the mist of spit. I thought she was a hopeless case. I wished her a nice day in a friendly way and continued. I could still see her jumping from the corner of my eyes\u2026 Crazy; no hair yet, daddy\u2019s car and a big mouth!<\/span><\/p>\n

Anyway, the landscape is a mere adventure! Forest everywhere, spring is just beginning and everything is blossoming! Every day I see deer, raptors and little rodents. I didn\u2019t know that deer can jump that far, that buzzards hunt in teams and that skunks still stink when they are dead\u2026 This diversity of life is very impressing! Moreover, I\u2019m increasingly more often given a thumbs-up from cars and encounter many nice conversations at many stops. Every little gesture is an energizer and makes me smile between the street, sweat and burning legs!<\/span><\/p>\n

Finally a thunderstorm hit me. What an experience! A wall of water, sight is limited to only a few meters and the wind is just heavy! It\u2019s said to continuously rain this week, and the next thunderstorm is already on its way\u2026 This means taking flight! 240 km until Nanticoke and approximately 450 km until New York!<\/span><\/p>\n
