Kaum als ich das Auto abgab, bekam ich einen weiteren Rabatt. Dar\u00fcber hinaus noch Geld und eine Rabattkarte f\u00fcr mehrere Restaurants! Der Ryan ist einer der besonderen Menschen auf der Reise. Schade, dass ich mir nicht mehr Zeit genommen habe…<\/p>\n

Wieder auf dem Radl durch die ersten Ortschaften und W\u00e4lder entlang am Ohio River bis nach Cincinnati. Etwa 70 km vor der Stadt in einem kleinen Ort blieb ich zum Essen. Sandy, von dem kleinen Restaurant, ist so was wie wir eine Frohnatur nennen w\u00fcrden. Nach einem kurzen Gespr\u00e4ch gab sie mir die Telefonnummer von ihrem Neffen aus Cincinnati.<\/p>\n

Cincinnati, nach LA und Louisville die dritte Gro\u00dfstadt auf dem Weg nach NY. Von der ersten Telefonzelle rief ich Erik, Sandy’s Neffen an. Er war noch in Downtown arbeiten und lud mich ein, ihn dort zu besuchen. Ein Ultimate Fight Club, den er mit seinem Freund Toni betreibt. Mann, das war heftig, erinnerte an Muay-Thai-K\u00e4mpfe in Thailand! Die Jungs sind gro\u00df, schwer und verdammt schnell, aber auch sauherzlich und freundlich! Fr\u00fcher k\u00e4mpften sie im K\u00e4fig und sind damit sehr bekannt geworden. Jetzt, mit Anfang 30, sind sie Trainer und Personensch\u00fctzer. In der Stadt sind sie \u00fcberall bekannt. Es gab kaum jemanden, der sie nicht gr\u00fc\u00dfte! Sie zeigten mir auch ein paar Graffitis eines Freundes, der ein eigenes Label hat!
\nErik lebt mit seiner Tochter Carlen au\u00dferhalb der Stadt mitten in einer gr\u00fcnen Kommune! Oh man, hab echt selten Menschen wie ihn kennengelernt. Vollblut-irisch, dynamisch, ohne Schmerzen, t\u00e4glich am Puls des Lebens. Carlen, du hast einen richtig coolen Vater! Danke euch f\u00fcr die saugeile Zeit! Ich komme wieder!<\/p>\n

30 km von der Stadt hielt ich an einem Fahrradladen. Ist zur Gewohnheit geworden. Immer auf der Suche nach was Besonderem f\u00fcr Bubu. Sah mich um und wollte wieder gehen, da war mein Terra pl\u00f6tzlich im Laden und wurde bestaunt. Kurzes Gespr\u00e4ch, woher, wohin und es hat keine 10 Min gedauert, da hatte ich eine Bleibe f\u00fcr die Nacht! Dar\u00fcber hinaus eine Flasche und einen Tipp, den man auf keiner Karte findet. Der l\u00e4ngste Bike-Trail in Ohio! Asphaltiert am Fluss fast bis Columbus 70 Meilen!
\nBei der Debbie, einer Mountainbikerin aus der Gegend, kam ich dann unter. Sie zeigte mir eine Bar, die wie ein Feinkostladen auf mich wirkte. X Sorten Bier aus Bayern! Am Abend kam noch die Nachbarin mit Tequila und wir grillten. Debbie sollte eigentlich am Tag darauf an einem Rennen teilnehmen, daraus wurde nix… Sorry f\u00fcr das, hoffe dein Team nimmt es dir nicht \u00fcbel..? \nIch startete verkatert und mit Kopfweh. Der Trail ist unserem Isartrail sehr \u00e4hnlich. Jogger, Biker und kleine Ortschaften mit Caf\u00e9s. Das Wetter war super und dementsprechend viel los. St\u00e4ndig h\u00f6rte ich \u201eWelcome to America\u201c! Wow!<\/p>\n

Nun verstecke ich mich mal wieder vor einem Unwetter. 70 km s\u00fcdlicher toben Tornados und hier duscht’s, was nur geht. F\u00fcr heut wird noch Hagel erwartet… In dem Motel lernte ich grad John aus Brooklyn kennen. Er sitzt das Wetter auch aus und f\u00e4hrt morgen weiter. In der Zeit hat er sein Zimmer zum Tonstudio umgewandelt und macht Musik! Wahnsinn! Ah ja, er ist ein Biker, Black Label Bike Club! www.blacklabelnewyork.com!<\/a> Werd dich besuchen!<\/p>\n

Back on the bike through the first small towns and forests along the Ohio River until Cincinnati. Approx. 70 km before the city I stayed in a small town for eating. Sandy of the small restaurant is someone you would call a happy soul. After a short conversation she gave me her nephew\u2019s telephone number from Cincinnati.<\/span><\/p>\n

Besides LA and Louisville, Cincinnati is the third big city on my way to NY. I called Erik, Sandy\u2019s nephew from the first phone booth. He was still working downtown and invited me to visit him there. An ultimate fight club which he runs with his friend Toni. Man, that was hard and reminded me of the Muay Thai fights in Thailand! The guys are big, heavy and damn quick, but also incredibly nice and friendly! In the past, they fought in cages and became very famous with it. Now, in their early thirties, they are trainers and bodyguards. They are known all over the town. There was hardly anyone who didn\u2019t greet them! They also showed me some graffiti of their friend who has his own label!
\nErik lives with his daughter Carlen outside of town in a green community! Oh man, I\u2019ve hardly met people like him. Irish to the blood, dynamic, without pain and daily on the pulse of life. Carlen, you have a really cool dad! Thank you for the awesome time! I\u2019ll be back!<\/span><\/p>\n

30 km before the city I stopped at a bike shop. I always look for something special for Bubu. I was looking around and wanted to leave when I noticed that my Terra was inside the shop and was marveled at. Short talk, where from and to, and it didn\u2019t take 10 minutes until I had a place to stay for the night! In addition, a bottle and a tip you don\u2019t find on any map. The longest bike trail in Ohio: 70 km of asphalt along the river almost to Columbus!
\nI found accommodation at Debbie\u2019s, a local mountain biker. She showed me a bar which almost seemed like a deli to me. Umpteen kinds of beers from Bavaria! In the evening her neighbor came over with tequila and we grilled out. Debbie was supposed to participate in a race the next day but it she didn\u2019t\u2026 Sorry for that, I hope your team isn\u2019t mad at me? \nI started with a hangover and a headache. The trail is very much like our Isar trail. Runners, bikers and little places with caf\u00e9s. The weather was fantastic and accordingly there was much activity there. All along I heard \u201cWelcome to America\u201d! Wow!<\/span><\/p>\n

Again, I\u2019m hiding from a thunderstorm. 70 km to the south there are tornados raging, and here it\u2019s pouring as much as it can. Hale is still to be expected for today\u2026 In the motel, I just got to know John from Brooklyn. He, too, is waiting out the weather and will continue tomorrow.
