Am Grand Canyon angekommen, suchte ich einen Supermarkt auf, um mich f\u00fcr die Nacht mit Essen und Gerstensaft einzudecken. Dort fragte ich einen Mitarbeiter in meinem Alter nach einem netten Spot zum Campen. In der N\u00e4he soll’s nicht m\u00f6glich sein. Es ist verboten und die Ranger verteilen Strafzettel… Im gleichen Atemzug lud er mich zu sich in die WG ein! Ich beschloss, mir die Gegend erst mal anzuschauen und dann eventuell zur\u00fcckzukommen, was dann auch der Fall war. Entlang am Canyon hatte ich links und rechts keinen ruhigen coolen Platz am Abgrund gefunden. H\u00e4tte weiter wegfahren sollen… Jedenfalls war die WG von Pasquale und Joe eine klasse Alternative! Wir hatten einen coolen Abend und lecker Essen. Dabei erz\u00e4hlten sie von anderen seltsamen Leuten, die am Canyon ankamen und die sie dann beherbergten. Zum Beispiel zwei M\u00e4dels aus Kasachstan, die vor zwei Monaten Schlafs\u00e4cke kaufen wollten, um im Auto zu \u00fcbernachten.
\nJungs, Fettes merci, es war saucool bei euch! Ihr, eure Gegend und der Grand Canyon seid einfach atemberaubend!<\/p>\n

Tag zuvor am Bahnhof lernte ich ein junges Ehepaar aus Phoenix kennen, Lauren und Rob. Wir unterhielten uns kurz \u00fcber die Reise und die schlechte Verbindung nach Holbrook. Darauf luden sie mich ein, mich nach Flagstaff mitzunehmen, von wo ich mit dem letzten Bus r\u00fcber gekommen bin. Davor waren wir Essen und lernten uns n\u00e4her kennen. Da f\u00fchlte ich Gastfreundschaft, die ich in der Form nur in Russland kennengelernt habe. Menschen, denen ich hier bisher begegne, machen die Reise um Welten interessanter und lebenswerter! Merci auch an der Stelle!<\/p>\n

Von Holbrook ging es dann weiter \u00fcber die Ausl\u00e4ufer der Rockies bis nach New Mexiko. Auf der Strecke begegnete ich dem ersten Radnomaden in USA. Remi aus Kanada ist seit beinah einem Jahr unterwegs durch Nord- und S\u00fcdamerika, ein klasse Typ (www.remilafreniere.com<\/a>)! Kurz darauf ein Freak aus LA. John ist zu Fu\u00df mit einem Kinderwagen von der Westk\u00fcste zur Ostk\u00fcste unterwegs (www.runvb2vb.com<\/a>)! Der Kinderwagen dient als Packesel mit allem Notwendigen, den er vor sich herschiebt. Daumen hoch! Als ob das nicht genug w\u00e4re, kamen mir zwei Radler in New Mexiko kurz vor Roswell entgegen. James und Wayne radl’n quer durch USA f\u00fcr einen humanit\u00e4ren Zweck! Auch hier Daumen hoch (www.dtdbfoundation.com<\/a>)!
\nEtwa 70 km nach Roswell kam mir ein hupendes Auto entgegen. Ron, Simons Dad, war klar und deutlich grinsend am Steuer zu erkennen. Was f\u00fcr ein Typ. Macht sich da auf den Weg, um mich kurz vor Texas abzufangen und mir glei mal eine Sightseeing-Runde zu geben?!? Es war eine Riesenfreude f\u00fcr mich, ein vertrautes Gesicht zu sehen! Kurzerhand war Terra im Auto und wir auf dem Weg nach Canyon, Texas zu den Campbells!<\/p>\n

Having arrived at the Grand Canyon, I went to a supermarket to stock up on food and beer for the night. There I asked a staff member of my age where there was a nice spot for camping. It wasn\u2019t possible nearby. It is forbidden and the rangers give out tickets\u2026 At the same moment, he invited me to his shared apartment! I decided to first check out the surroundings and to possibly come back, that was the case then. Right and left along the Grand Canyon I couldn\u2019t find a quiet nice place at the precipice. I should have continued\u2026 Anyway, the shared apartment of Pasquale and Joe was a super alternative! We had a cool evening and delicious food. They were telling me about other strange people who arrived at the Canyon and whom they sheltered. For example, two girls from Kazakhstan who wanted to buy sleeping bags to sleep in the car.
\nBoys, thank you so much, it was a blast! You, your surroundings and the Grand Canyon are simply awesome!<\/span><\/p>\n

The day before I had got to know a young married couple, Lauren and Rob from Phoenix. We talked about the journey and the bad connection to Holbrook. Upon this, they invited to take me to Flagstaff with them from where I had arrived with the last bus. I felt such hospitality which I only experienced in such form in Russia. People I have encountered here up to now make the journey and life much more interesting! Having said this, thank you!<\/span><\/p>\n

From Holbrook on I continued via the foothills of the Rockies until New Mexico. On my way I got to know the first bike nomad in the US. Remi from Canada has been on his way through North and South America for almost a year; he\u2019s a cool guy (<\/span>www.remilafreniere.com<\/span><\/span><\/a>)! Shortly after this encounter, I met a freak from LA. John is on his way by foot with a baby buggy from the west to the east coast (<\/span>www.runvb2vb.com<\/span><\/a><\/span><\/span>)<\/span>! The baby buggy is his drudge carrying all the necessary stuff, which he pushes in front of him. Thumbs up! As if this wasn\u2019t enough, two bikers came towards me in New Mexico shortly before Roswell. James and Wayne bike across the US for a humanitarian purpose! \nApprox. 70 km after Roswell, a honking car was coming towards me. Ron, Simon\u2019s dad, could quite clearly be seen behind the steering wheel. What a guy. He made this trip to head me off closely before Texas and to give me a sightseeing tour right away?!? It was a great pleasure to see a familiar face! On the spot, Terra was in the car and off we went to Canyon, Texas to the Campbell\u2019s!<\/span><\/p>\n
