Was soll ich sagen, Bubu begr\u00fc\u00dfte mich am Flughafen mit einem Bier, sie landete zwei Stunden vor mir. Danach ab ins Hostel und einen Mai Tai trinken! Das Wetter ist einfach nur super, kein Gehupe auf der Stra\u00dfe und es ist sauber! Die Thais erscheinen mir, wie soll ich sagen, irgendwie sanft und gar nicht aufdringlich. Die Stadt ist voller Touris, ein Mix aus jungem Feiervolk, Globetrottern und vereinzelt Familien. G\u00e4be es sie nicht, w\u00e4re die Kao San Road, welche das Epizentrum des Tourismus ist, einfach nur leer.
\nNun starten wir morgen, mit einem Tag Versp\u00e4tung, Richtung Chumphon. Von dort aus mit dem Schiff auf Ko Tao, Ko Pha Ngan und Ko Samui. Zun\u00e4chst geht’s mit dem Bus raus aus der Stadt und dem Ballungsgebiet nach Phetchaburi. Will Bubu nicht die Freude am Fahren nehmen. Der Verkehr erscheint mir hier viel ruhiger und entspannter als in Indien, die Stra\u00dfen sind aber \u00e4hnlich verstopft und voller Abgase…
\nIn den letzten drei Tagen haben wir uns ein wenig die Stadt angeschaut, ein Fahrrad besorgt und einen Bus ausfindig gemacht. Eins ist mir gleich aufgefallen! Waren es in Indien noch Maximum 3\u20ac pro Tag, die zum Leben reichten und dabei musste man nicht mal aufs Geld achten, ist es hier potenziell teurer… Im Vergleich zur Heimat ist es zwar immer noch g\u00fcnstig, aber schon komisch, an einem Tag das auszugeben, was f\u00fcr eine Woche Indien reicht…
\nJetzt ist Sonne, Strand, Meer, lecker K\u00fcche und neue Mentalit\u00e4t angesagt. Das auch noch zu Zweit! Weihnachten und Neujahr! Wir k\u00f6nnen es kaum noch erwarten, morgen fr\u00fch zu starten, raus aus der Stadt und die Natur S\u00fcdostasiens erleben!

PS: Das Mutter-Teresa-Haus war schon was. Man setzte mich, aufgrund meiner wenigen Erfahrung, in einer Einrichtung mit k\u00f6rperlich und geistig eingeschr\u00e4nkten Menschen ein. Hab schon Einiges zuvor gesehen, aber das war schon heftig! Es gibt auch eine Krankenstation mit Erkrankungen, die ich bis dahin nur vom H\u00f6rensagen kannte… Unglaublich, wie viel Kraft und Hingabe aus Liebe zu Menschen Mutter Teresa entwickelt hat! Die Eindr\u00fccke hallen noch nach…<\/p>\n

What shall I say? Bubu welcomed me at the airport with a beer as she had landed two hours earlier. Then we went off to the hostel to have a Mai Tai! The weather is just marvelous, no honking in the streets and it\u2019s clean. The Thais seem, how can I say, somehow gentle and not obtrusive at all. The city is full of tourists, a mixture of young partygoers, globetrotters and sporadically you see families. If they all weren\u2019t here, then Kao San Road, which is the touristic epicenter, would just be deserted.
\nTomorrow we\u2019ll start \u2013 with a one-day delay \u2013 towards Chumpon. From there we take the ship to Ko Tao, Ko Pha Ngan and Ko Samui. First, we take the bus out of the city and out of the congested urban region to Phetchaburi. I don\u2019t want to steal Bubu\u2019s joy of cycling. Traffic seems much quieter and more relaxed than in India, but the streets are similarly congested and full of emissions\u2026
\nWithin the last three days, we went sightseeing in the city a little bit, bought a bike and found a bus. There is one thing I immediately noticed! In India, it was a maximum of \u20ac 3 per day that were enough for living and you didn\u2019t even have to watch your spending, but here it\u2019s potentially more expensive\u2026 Compared to our home country, it\u2019s still inexpensive, but it\u2019s strange to spend as much money on one day here as you do in one week in India\u2026
\nNow it\u2019s time for sun, beach, sea, delicious food and a new mentality. All this even for both of us! Christmas and New Year! We can hardly wait to start tomorrow morning, to get out of the city and to experience Southeast Asia\u2019s nature!

PS: The Mother Teresa House was impressive. Due to my little experience I was assigned to work in a facility for mentally and physically handicapped people. I\u2019ve seen many things before, but this was really hard! There is also a hospital ward with diseases I had only known before from hearsay until then\u2026 It is incredible how much strength and commitment Mother Teresa developed from her love to people! The impressions still echo in my mind\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n
