<\/a><\/p>\nIch fang am Besten, wie immer, von vorn an. Am ersten Caf\u00e9 nach Aral ging’s schon los. Es war Samstag und die zwei Damen, die es bewirtschafteten, hatten schon ziemlich einen sitzen… Wir blieben kurz und tranken eine \u00fcble Limo, danach wollten wir nur noch Wasser f\u00fcr den Weg ordern und weiter fahren. Da sagte sie nicht glatt, dass sie es nur verkauft, wenn wir ihr ein Bier spendieren. Naja, wir fuhren ohne Wasser weiter… Die Vorr\u00e4te waren nicht aufgebraucht, nur wei\u00df man nicht, wo und wann wir uns wieder versorgen k\u00f6nnen. In der Nacht weckte mich ein Rauschen im Geb\u00fcsch. Ich blieb still und r\u00e4tselte, was es wohl sein k\u00f6nnte. Da sah ich pl\u00f6tzlich einen Schatten, den das Mondlicht auf mein Zelt warf. Es war ein Vierbeiner. Ob Hund oder Wolf, keine Ahnung. Jedenfalls dachte ich mir, es hat Hunger und sucht Futter, bleib einfach ruhig. Ein wenig kribbelig war es aber schon. Die ganze Zeit musste ich an den Rat von Ludo aus Holland, den ich in Atyrau kennengelernt hab, denken – kauf dir ein Pfefferspray, hier gibt’s wilde Hunde… In den N\u00e4chten darauf gab es \u00f6fters Besuche dieser Art.<\/p>\n
Am n\u00e4chsten Tag mittags nach dem Essen stellte ich fest, dass mir mein Buddha geklaut wurde! Den hat jemand vor dem Caf\u00e9 einfach vom Schutzblech abgerissen… Das konnte nur ein Kind gewesen sein, ein Erwachsener h\u00e4tte eine der Taschen genommen. Genervt von dem Ereignis strampelte ich gegen den Passatwind, der hier st\u00e4ndig pr\u00e4sent ist, weiter. Das ist wie Berg fahren, man kommt nicht \u00fcber 15 Sachen und macht kaum Strecke. Zumindest ist es nicht mehr so hei\u00df und mittags fahren ist wieder m\u00f6glich. Am Nachmittag sah man pl\u00f6tzlich mordsgro\u00dfe Satellitensch\u00fcsseln, das Kosmodrom! Karge Steppenlandschaft und seltsame Geb\u00e4ude. In der gegen\u00fcberliegenden Stadt Bayqongyr wollten wir rasten. Vor der Stadt ein Checkpoint, an dem man uns die Weiterfahrt verwehrt hat. Da war’s klar, es ist eine Grenze und die Stadt ist russischer Boden, auf dem die Mitarbeiter vom Kosmodrom leben. Die ganze Stadt ist ummauert und bewacht… Da blieb nur noch das Dorf vor der Stadt, in dem wir untergekommen sind. Am n\u00e4chsten Morgen rebellierte mein Magen. Hab wohl einen bockigen Hammel gegessen oder es war das Wasser, wie die Einheimischen meinten. Auf der Toilette befreite ich den Hammel \u00fcber denselben Weg, wie er rein gekommen ist, um weiteres Bocken zu vermeiden. Dennoch hat er oder das Wasser mich f\u00fcr zwei Tage ausgeschaltet…<\/p>\n
Endlich wieder auf der Stra\u00dfe, da \u00fcberholt uns mittags ein Wagen mit englischer Nummer. Vier Jungs aus England, Schottland, Australien und Neuseeland. Als ob das schon nicht verr\u00fcckt w\u00e4r, meinten sie, dass es eine Rallye ist und uns bald noch mehr Autos aus UK \u00fcberholen werden. Sie waren bereits zwei Wochen unterwegs und ihr Ziel ist Almaty, wo sie alle dann die Autos verkaufen und wieder nach Hause fliegen. Kurz nach der Begegnung kam auch schon der Rest im Konvoi, ca. 10 Autos. Sie gr\u00fc\u00dften uns mit einem Hupkonzert. Ziemlich abgefahren!<\/p>\n
Die Stra\u00dfe M32 ist eine reine Baustelle. \u00dcber weite Abschnitte von bis zu 20 km reine Sandpiste. Das Fahren macht da kein Vergn\u00fcgen. Der aufgewirbelte Sand von den Autos und LKWs in der Kombination mit dem Wind bedeckt einen schon nach kurzer Zeit komplett mit Staub und Sand. Der Schwei\u00df wirkt da wie ein Kleber und es gibt keine Stelle am K\u00f6rper, die verschont bleibt… Wie wir an einer Baustellenkantine erfahren haben, soll es die neue Verbindung zwischen China und Europa werden. An derselben Kantine hat man uns zu einem Fest eingeladen. Es gab viel zum Essen, sogar Fr\u00fcchte und Salate! Zudem haben sie uns kleine Carepakete mit auf den Weg gegeben. Einfach spitze!<\/p>\n
In diesen Tagen ver\u00e4nderte sich auch die Landschaft zunehmend. Pl\u00f6tzlich gibt es wieder B\u00e4ume und es ist satt gr\u00fcn! Zudem f\u00e4llt die Temperatur nachts auf zehn Grad, was super zum Schlafen ist, schon fast kalt. Wir rasteten umgeben von Reisfeldern, da machten wir eine Bekanntschaft mit einem verr\u00fcckten Kasachen. Der Typ war mit einem Ultraleichtflieger unterwegs und bespr\u00fchte die Felder. Da kam er im Sturzflug auf uns zu und zog das Ding etwa einen Meter \u00fcber den Boden hoch! Wir sa\u00dfen im Schneidersitz auf dem Boden und mussten uns hinlegen, als er \u00fcber uns flog! Was f\u00fcr ein Freak, haben wir uns gedacht. Ob er uns beeindrucken oder verjagen wollte, bleibt offen. Es war jedenfalls sehr knapp und das Adrenalin schoss durch den K\u00f6rper.<\/p>\n
Etwa 70 km vor Kyzylorda trafen wir in einem Caf\u00e9 die n\u00e4chsten Globetrotter. Ein deutsch-schweizer P\u00e4rchen, die mit einem 4×4 unterwegs sind. Wir unterhielten uns den halben Tag, bis das Caf\u00e9 schloss. Sie reisen seit vier Monaten in Zentralasien und sind auf dem R\u00fcckweg, da sie ein Baby erwarten. Eigentlich planten sie etwa ein Jahr zu reisen, aber es steht jetzt wohl ein anderes Abenteuer bevor. Alles Gute an der Stelle!!<\/p>\n
Kyzylorda, die zweite Stadt in Kasachstan und mein n\u00e4chster Held: Arman – seine Gastfreundschaft und Hilfsbereitschaft ist un\u00fcbertroffen! Hab ab morgen sechs Tage, um bei der chinesischen Botschaft in Almaty anzutanzen und dazwischen liegen noch ca. 1.200 km… Somit war mein Plan, hier in Kyzylorda ein Zugticket ab T\u00fcrkistan zu besorgen. Die Option ging nicht auf, da sie keine Tickets ab T\u00fcrkistan verkaufen… Die Wahl war jetzt auf gut Gl\u00fcck nach T\u00fcrkistan zu radl’n oder eine der zwei Verbindungen von hier zu w\u00e4hlen. Die erste ist morgen um zwei Uhr fr\u00fch und die andere am F\u00fcnften. Da die Unterkunft in Almaty g\u00fcnstiger sein wird als hier, fahre ich morgen und bin 24 Std. sp\u00e4ter da. Marty und Richard, die ich zuvor in Atyrau kennengelernt habe, haben mir die E-Mail-Adresse von Yaroslavna aus Almaty gegeben und ihr von mir erz\u00e4hlt. Als ich Kontakt aufbauen wollte, hatte ich bereits eine Nachricht von ihr, alles w\u00e4re vorbereitet und ich m\u00fcsste ihr nur sagen, wann ich komme. Bin mal wieder sprachlos, wie sich manche Leute engagieren! Die Aktion am Bahnhof w\u00e4re auch nicht so einfach gewesen, wenn Arman nicht dabei w\u00e4re. Des Weiteren hat auch er mir hier ein relativ g\u00fcnstiges Zimmer besorgt. Der Normalpreis im Hotel liegt bei 90 \u20ac, ich \u00fcbernachtete hier f\u00fcr weniger als die H\u00e4lfte. Arman, fettes merci!!<\/p>\n
Zurzeit passiert so viel, dass ich ohne Notizen gar nicht mehr klar komme. Die ersten Null-Bock-Phasen waren auch schon da… Wenn man v\u00f6llig fertig und total verschwitzt, bedeckt von oben bis unten mit Sand und Staub ist, sich dann ins hei\u00dfe Zelt fl\u00fcchten muss, weil Zombies (M\u00fccken) unterwegs sind, dann nach ca. 6 Std. von der Sonne geweckt wird, die die Temperatur im Zelt auf ca. 30 Grad ansteigen l\u00e4sst, gef\u00fchlt wie eine 80-Grad-Sauna, schwitzend wieder aufwacht… Das macht keinen Spa\u00df… Motivierend wirkt da nur die Vorstellung vom leckeren Fr\u00fchst\u00fcck am n\u00e4chsten Caf\u00e9 und einem k\u00fchlen Bier am Abend. Das Fr\u00fchst\u00fcck ist dann aber meist, wenn man Gl\u00fcck hat, Spiegelei mit Brot. Eine kulinarische Kultur haben die Kasachen nicht. Sorry… Es gibt meist nur Hammel mit Zwiebeln und Kartoffeln. Vielleicht liegt es auch daran, dass man die Karte nicht lesen und verstehen kann. Ich lass mir meist was empfehlen und das ist einfach nur …<\/p>\n

English: <\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Wild wild Kazakhstan!<\/span><\/p>\n As always, I better start from the beginning. At the first caf\u00e9 after Aral it had already begun. It was Saturday, and the two waitresses were pretty drunk\u2026 We stayed for a short time and drank a horrible soda, and after that we only wanted to order water for our way and then move along. Then one of them bluntly said that she would only sell it us if we bought her a beer. Well, we continued without water\u2026 Our supplies weren\u2019t used up, but you don\u2019t know where and when we can stock up. During the night I was woken by a rustle in the bushes. I kept quiet and wondered what this could be. Suddenly I saw a shadow that was cast on my tent by the moonlight. It was a quadruped. I don\u2019t know if it was a dog or a wolf. Anyway, I thought it was hungry and was looking for food, and I thought: \u201cJust freeze\u201d. But it was a little creepy anyway. All the time I thought of the advice Ludo from the Netherlands, who I met in Atyrau, gave me: Buy a pepper spray, there are wild dogs here\u2026 In the following nights there were more visits of that kind.<\/span><\/p>\n At noon the next day I figured out that my Buddha was stolen! Somebody just ripped it off the protective plate in front of the caf\u00e9\u2026 This could only have been a kid; every adult would have taken one of the bags. Unnerved by this event, I pedaled against the trade wind that is present here all the time. This is like cycling up a hill, you can\u2019t go faster than 15 km per hour and you hardly cover a distance. At least it\u2019s not so hot anymore and it\u2019s possible to cycle during noontime. In the afternoon, we suddenly saw humongous satellite dishes, the Cosmodrome! Barren landscape and odd buildings. We wanted to take a break in the city Bayqongyr that was located on the opposite side. In front of the city was a checkpoint at which we were denied to continue. Then it was clear that it was a border and that the city is Russian soil on which the employees of the Cosmodrome live. The entire city is enclosed with walls and guarded\u2026 There was only the village before the city left, in which we could stay. The next day I had an upset stomach. I guess I had bad mutton or it was the water, as the locals said. In the bathroom, the mutton was released in the same way I had consumed it to prevent my stomach from getting even more upset. Nevertheless, the mutton or the water knocked me out for two days\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n Finally back on the street, we were overtaken by a car with an English license plate at noon. Four guys from England, Scotland, Australia and New Zealand. As if this wasn\u2019t crazy enough, they told us that there was a rally taking place and that we would be overtaken by more cars from the UK soon. They had already been on the road for two weeks and their destination was Almaty, where all of them would sell the cars and would fly back home. Shortly after this encounter, the rest came along in a convoy, approximately 10 cars. They greeted us by a chorus of horns. How crazy!<\/span><\/p>\n The M32 street is a mere construction site. There is only sand over long parts of up to 20 km. With this condition, biking isn\u2019t fun. Sand raised by cars and trucks combined with wind covers you with dust and sand already within a short time. Sweat takes effect as glue, and there isn\u2019t any part of the body that is spared\u2026 As we learned at the canteen of the construction site, this is going to be the connection between China and Europe. At the same canteen we were invited to a feast. There was lots of food, even fruits and salads! Moreover, they gave us small care packages for our way. Simply super!<\/span><\/p>\n In these days the landscape increasingly changed. Suddenly there are trees and it is lush green! Furthermore, the temperature drops to ten degrees Celsius at night, which is super for sleeping, almost cool. Surrounded by paddy fields, we took a break and encountered a crazy Kazakh. The guy was on his way with a microlight and sprayed the fields. Suddenly he was nosediving towards us and pulled up his aircraft approximately one meter above the ground! We sat with crossed legs and had to lie down when he was flying above our heads! \u201cWhat a freak\u201d, we thought. If he wanted to impress us or chase us away, remains unanswered. Anyway, it was very close and adrenaline shot through our bodies.<\/span><\/p>\n About 70 km before Kyzylorda we met the next globetrotters in a caf\u00e9. A German\/Swiss couple, who were on their way with a 4×4. We talked for half the day until the caf\u00e9 closed. They had been traveling through central Asia for four months and where on their way back then because they were expecting. Actually, they had planed to travel for a year, but now there is another adventure waiting for them. At this point, all the best to you!<\/span><\/p>\n Kyzylorda, the second city in Kazakhstan and my next hero: Arman \u2013 his hospitality and helpfulness are unexcelled! From tomorrow on, I have six days to attend the Chinese embassy in Almaty and yet there are 1,200 km to cover\u2026 So I had the plan to buy a train ticket here in Kyzylorda for one departing from Turkestan. The plan didn\u2019t work because they don\u2019t sell tickets from Turkestan\u2026 So I had the choice to cycle to Turkestan on a wing and prayer or to choose one of the two connections from here. The first one departs tomorrow at 2 am and the other on the fifth. As accommodation in Almaty will be cheaper than here, I\u2019ll take the train tomorrow and I\u2019ll arrive 24 hours later. Marty and Richard, who I had met in Atyrau before, gave me Yaroslavna\u2019s email address from Almaty and told me about her. When I wanted to contact her, I had already received a message from her stating that everything was set and that I only had to tell here when I would be there. Again, I\u2019m speechless about how certain people are committed! The action at the station wouldn\u2019t have been that easy if Arman hadn\u2019t been there. Moreover, he booked me a room which is relatively cheap. The normal price for the hotel room is 90 \u20ac, and I stayed there for less than the half. Arman, thank you so much!<\/span><\/p>\n At the moment so many things are happening that I really need to take notes. I already had first \u201cI don\u2019t wanna do this anymore\u201d phases\u2026 When you\u2019re completely exhausted and totally soaked with sweat, covered with sand and dust from head to toe, and then have to save yourself into the hot tent because there are zombies (mosquitoes) out there, and then you get woken by the sun after approximately 6 hours, rising the temperature to about 30 degrees which makes you feel you\u2019re in a sauna with 80 degrees, and then you wake up sweating\u2026 This isn\u2019t fun\u2026 The imagination of a delicious breakfast at the next caf\u00e9 and a cool beer in the evening is the only motivation. However, breakfast mostly consists of \u2013 if I\u2019m lucky \u2013 fried eggs and bread. The Kazakhs don\u2019t have any kind of culinary culture. Sorry\u2026 Mostly you\u2019ll get mutton with onions and potatoes. But maybe this is because I can\u2019t read and understand the menu.
