<\/a><\/p>\nBeim Besuch des buddhistischen Tempels in Elista bekamen wir Kekse, Butter und Tee von einem M\u00f6nch aus Tibet mit auf den Weg! Er war sichtlich beeindruckt von unserer Art des Reisens und dem Vorhaben, nach Tibet zu radl’n. Am Tag vor der Abreise Richtung Astrakhan kam schon der n\u00e4chste Radreisende aus Augsburg! Mathias ist auf dem Weg nach China! Somit fuhren wir zu dritt los und hatten recht coole Tage. Die Hitze in der Steppe ist unerbittlich mit ihren bis zu 50 Grad mittags in der Sonne! Wir fuhren nur in den Morgenstunden und am Abend bis zur D\u00e4mmerung. Zur Mittagszeit hatten wir bisher Gl\u00fcck. Alle 40-60 km kamen Tankstellen mit kleinen Caf\u00e8s – f\u00fcr uns Oasen, in denen wir bis zu 7 Stunden verbrachten. Da wir zu dritt waren, kam auch nie Langeweile auf. Im Gegenteil \u2013 hitzige Gespr\u00e4che \u00fcber Gott und die Welt… Abends suchten wir ein ruhiges Pl\u00e4tzchen zum Zelten und machten Feuer. Dabei gab es zum Essen ein pisswarmes Bier… Es sind die Stunden des Tages mit milden 29 Grad, die mir bisher in der Steppe am meisten gefallen. Weit und breit einfach nichts, sternenklarer Himmel und Blitze am Horizont. Das Donnern h\u00f6rt man gar nicht. Das sind ganz besondere Momente f\u00fcr mich! Am Abend, bevor wir Astrakhan erreichten, machten wir 40 km vor der Stadt an einem der vielen Seen Rast. Nach drei Tagen Nichts war die Abk\u00fchlung einfach super! Daf\u00fcr mussten wir die M\u00fccken in Kauf nehmen…<\/p>\n
Nun trennen sich unsere Wege hier. Mathias legt eine Erholungspause ein, Pierre und ich radl’n weiter nach Kasachstan. Das Paket f\u00fcr Pierre kam nicht an. Wir wissen nicht warum. Jedenfalls hat der Zoll in Moskau es zur\u00fcckgeschickt und das kann bis zu zwei Monate dauern… Da war Improvisation gefragt. Ein russischer Reifen tut’s trotz eiern auch. Der Rest muss einfach halten! Zum Gl\u00fcck gibt es Bubu, die alles N\u00f6tige besorgt hat und es via UPS nach Atyrau geschickt hat! Das Paket ist bereits in Almaty und hoffentlich kommt es auch durch. Da sind nicht nur Sachen f\u00fcr Pierre drin. Die Platte von meinem Fahrradst\u00e4nder ist v\u00f6llig verbogen, Mathias Innenlager nackelt. Dementsprechend sind wir alle froh \u00fcber die Unterst\u00fctzung und sagen: Fettes merci Bubu!!!<\/p>\n
Nun zu den vielen Fragen, die ihr stellt. Ich hab mich bisher nicht ver\u00e4ndert. Bin ja auch grad seit zwei Monaten unterwegs und bis vor Kurzem in der Zivilisation gewesen… Das Einzige, was mir aufgefallen ist, dass ich den Sonnenuntergang gar nicht mehr mag. Sonnenaufgang find ich jetzt besser, sch\u00f6ner, motivierender als je zuvor! Unterwegs denke ich an viele Sachen, z.B. pr\u00fcfe ich mich in Gedanken st\u00e4ndig, ob alles richtig war, was ich bisher gemacht habe und selbstverst\u00e4ndlich an die Tage, die bevorstehen. Intuition ist jetzt auch sehr wichtig, z.B. wann ist eine Pause oder Essen wichtig, mit wie viel Wasser decke ich mich ein und vor allem, wie begegne ich den Menschen. Bisher war alles gut und das Meiste ergab sich einfach. Wenn ich mit Einheimischen rede, dann wollen sie nur \u00fcber die Reise sprechen. Wohin, woher, warum mit dem Fahrrad usw. Langsam sprech ich auch ganz passabel russisch! Irgendwie sauge ich die Sprachen in den L\u00e4ndern auf. Zu Haus fehlt meist die Zeit und das Interesse… Es sind auch immer dieselben Situationen. Essen, schlafen, einkaufen, nach dem Weg fragen und kleiner Small Talk. Vieles funktioniert auch nonverbal. K\u00f6rperlich geht’s mir super, das Knie bleibt ein Fall f\u00fcr die Akte XY ungel\u00f6st… Beim Essen mutiere ich zum Tier. Ohne Manieren, wie im Rausch, haue ich rein, was nur geht. Hoffe, dass die Leute es nicht als unsere Esskultur verstehen…<\/p>\n
Astrakhan ist wieder komplett anders als Elista. Nach drei Tagen Steppe hab ich schon mit allem gerechnet, aber es ist hier wie in einer westlichen Stadt. Kaum Asiaten, die Architektur ist europ\u00e4isch und der Kapitalismus ist \u00fcberall zu sehen… Schon seltsam, wie gro\u00df die Unterschiede auf so kurzer Distanz sind…<\/p>\n
Morgen Abend werden wir in Kasachstan einreisen. Kann es kaum erwarten, im Kaspischen Meer zu baden!! Es soll dort noch w\u00e4rmer sein als hier… Ja, w\u00e4r blo\u00df alles gut verlaufen, dann w\u00e4r ich schon vor knappen vier Wochen hier und es w\u00e4r milder…<\/p>\n
Russland war bis jetzt das beste Land auf der Reise. Die nettesten Leute! Meistens auch leckeres Essen! Ein Bild jedoch geht mir nicht aus dem Kopf \u2013 Bierflaschen im Plumpsklo… Was hat Bier mit Schei\u00dfe zu tun…?<\/p>\n
PS: Informationen \u00fcber politische und wirtschaftliche Geschehnisse von zu Haus kommen nicht durch. Das ist auch gut so! Die WM verfolge ich soweit, wie’s geht. Diese Spanier… Ich dr\u00fccke die Daumen f\u00fcr Holland!<\/p>\n

English:<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Hello from the Volga Delta!<\/span><\/p>\n During our visit to the Buddhist temple in Elista a monk from Tibet gave us cookies, butter and tea for our onward journey! He was visibly impressed by our way of traveling and our intention to cycle to Tibet. The day before we headed towards Astrakhan, the next biker arrived from Augsburg! Mathias is on his way to China! So the three of us started together and spent some really cool days. The heat in the steppe is unrelenting with up to 50 degrees Celsius in the sun during noon! We only cycled during the morning hours and in the evenings until sunset. Around noon we were always lucky. Every 40 to 60\u00a0km there was a gas station with a small caf\u00e9 \u2013 little oases for us where we spent up to 7 hours. As there were three of us, it never got boring. Quite the opposite \u2013 heated conversations about everything under the sun\u2026 In the evenings, we looked for a quiet place to pitch our tents and made fire. And we had piss warm beer with our meals\u2026 The hours during the days with mild 29 degrees Celsius are what I\u2019ve liked best about the steppe so far. There is nothing around, only the starlit sky and lightning on the horizon. You don\u2019t even hear the rumbling. These are vey special moments for me! The evening before we reached Astrakhan, we took a break at one of the many lakes before the city. After three days of nothingness, this refreshment was simply great! But we had to put up with the mosquitoes\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n Our ways separate here. Mathias takes a rest period for regeneration, and Pierre and I continue to Kazakhstan. The package for Pierre didn\u2019t arrive. We don\u2019t know why. The Moscow customs sent it back and this can take up to 2 months\u2026 So improvisation was required. A Russian tire will do although it wobbles\u2026 The rest simply has to last! But luckily there is Bubu who bought all the necessary items and sent it to Atyrau via UPS! The package has already arrived in Almaty, and hopefully it makes its way. It doesn\u2019t only contain Pierre\u2019s stuff. My bike stand\u2019s plate is totally out of shape and Mathias\u2019 inner bearing isn\u2019t running smoothly. Therefore, we\u2019re all happy about the support and say: Thank you so much, Bubu!!!<\/span><\/p>\n Now to your many questions. I haven\u2019t changed until now. I\u2019ve been on the road for only 2\u00a0months now and until recently in civilization\u2026. The only thing I\u2019ve noticed is that I don\u2019t like sunset any more at all. I find sunrise better, nicer and more motivating than ever before! When I\u2019m on the road, I think of many things, e.g. in my mind I constantly check upon myself if everything I did was right, and of course I think about the upcoming days. Intuition is very important now, e.g. when is the right time for a break or a meal, how much water do I have to buy and, above all, how do I encounter people. So far, everything has been fine, and most things just arise out of situations. When I talk to locals, they only want to talk about my journey. Where to, where from, why by bike etc. Gradually, my Russian has become quite acceptable! Somehow I absorb the languages in the countries. At home I mostly don\u2019t have the time nor the interest\u2026 And it\u2019s always the same situations. Eating, sleeping, shopping, asking for the way and little bit of small talk. Many thinks also work non-verbally. Physically I\u2019m fine, but my knee remains an unsolved case. When eating, I mutate into an animal. Without manners, like in a frenzy, I dig in what\u2019s possible. I hope that people don\u2019t take this for our eating habits\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n Astrakhan is completely different from Elista. After three days in the steppe I expected everything, but this here is just like a western city. There are hardly any Asian people, the architecture is European and capitalism can be seen everywhere\u2026 It\u2019s quite odd how big the differences are on such a short distance\u2026<\/span><\/p>\n Tomorrow evening we are going to travel into Kazakhstan. I can hardly wait to swim in the Caspian Sea!! It\u2019s supposed to be warmer than here\u2026Well, if everything would have gone smoothly, then I would have been here approx. two weeks ago and it would be milder\u2026 Russia has been the best country on my journey so far. There are the nicest people! Mostly, the food is delicious! One picture I don\u2019t get out of my mind: beer bottle in the pit latrine\u2026 What does beer have to do with shit?<\/span><\/p>\n PS: Information on political and economic incidents don\u2019t get through. And that\u2019s good the way it is! I\u2019ve followed the soccer world cup as far as possible.
